Visual elements in front of image
How to use it
In front of an image, place visual elements using some motifs from your brand/style guidelines.
When to use it
This is a way of taking an image that might not be very interesting, especially a hero image where it takes up a lot of space, and making it more interesting by adding visual elements in front of it. In the example below I used a series of squares in front of the large grey circle, with their overlapping sections coloured. If your brand uses circles, for example, you might want to use circular elements in front of the image.
What to watch out for
You might want to desaturate the image so that the focus is on the visual elements in front of it - otherwise there's a chance that they'll compete with each other and you won't get the effect you want.
